Florida teachers Maren and David Douglass noticed a schoolgirl waiting for her bus beside their driveway. Concerned about traffic passing nearby, they set out a bench so she would have a more comfortable place to wait.
When she spotted it, she jumped with delight. Soon, she left them a thank-you note. After noticing that she read while she waited, Maren added a small free library beside the bench. Other neighborhood children now borrow and return books there too.
One thoughtful gesture made a school morning a little kinderโand gave the whole neighborhood a place to share.
